Completion of the Shelter in the Rainforest
February 1, 2024

At Garúa, we are proud to announce the completion of the Shelter in the Rainforest, a project developed for the Avifauna Eugene Eisenmann Foundation within the ecotourism campus of the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center.
Conceived as a multifunctional space for training, teaching, and collective activities, the Refuge is part of a larger complex that includes trails, a birdwatching tower, and a visitor center. Its goal is to strengthen sustainable tourism and provide a space dedicated to preparing new birdwatching guides in Panama.
Beyond the physical structure, this project embodies the synergy between Garúa’s architectural vision and the empirical expertise of construction workers. Built under challenging conditions, including Panama’s demanding rainy season, the dedication and collaboration of the entire team made it possible to bring a complex and ambitious geometry to life.
The Shelter stands as a testament to how architecture transcends drawings and becomes a collective endeavor, where dialogue and the exchange of knowledge between designers and builders give rise to extraordinary and sustainable spaces.
At Garúa, we firmly believe that success is built on collaboration and on the ability to leverage individual strengths toward a common purpose. The completion of this project reaffirms our mission to create positive impact through sustainable architecture and teamwork.
